Raising Hope After School
This program provides tutoring, assistance with homework and life skills education to students from the 2nd to 9th grades in Providence public schools. Raising Hope collaborates with selected elementary and middle schools in Providence to promote its After School Program.
Afro-Caribbean Drumming
Raising Hope identifies with all groups in our communities by promoting music and the arts to enhance unity, self-identity and creativity. The Afro-Caribbean drumming is open to youths and persons with disabilities to develop skills for music making, improve inner strength and mental alertness. The program takes place at the Knight Memorial Library in Providence.
Raising Hope Soccer
The program provides opportunity, motivation and skill building for youth (especially immigrant children 8 to 16 years of age) to engage in soccer after-school and out-of-school times. Soccer practice is held all year-round; and games with other local club sides are scheduled weekly. Soccer is a sport most immigrant groups identify with, and participation leads to improved physical health, gang and crime prevention, self esteem building and responsibility.more
Youth Soccer
The Youth Soccer Program organized all-year round for boys and girls ages 8 to 17 years. Practice & games are scheduled as needed.
- Raising Hope Eaglets: Under 10 team (8 to 10 years old)
- The Raisins: Under 14 team (11 to 14 years old)
- West End Kicks: Under 17 team (14 to 17 years old)
Parent 2 Child Mentoring
This program recruits young adults, or professionals to become mentors to immigrant children; youth with behavior issues or from single parent household, and young parents with children; providing role models, support and character development for at least one-year.
Raising Hope Youth Awareness and Outreach Program
This program is focused on educating young people to understand health and social issues, take action by educating others and promote community wide education outreach. Activities involved in this program include:
